How dedicated are you to you? I am a member of a local chapter of Black Girls Run. I joined when I first moved here and attended their first run. The first year I attended most of the meet ups and met some nice ladies. After experiencing my first Midwest winter and being totally unprepared I stopped going for walks. It has been at least a year since the last time I met with the group. With some guidance I made a goal to buy new shoes (my old ones had holes) and at least think about walking. Well the group was meeting at one of my favorite parks. I laced up my new shoes and took a quick bus ride there. I don't have a car so I took the bus. I snapped a few photos of the lovely views I experienced on my walk and posted them to Instagram. My sister commented and said with views like that she'd go walking everyday. I thought to myself why not go everyday? I have a bus card that I hardly use. I have shoes. The sun doesn't set till after 9 pm. Why not? I'll do it! Can I do it? What about traffic and Mosquitos. I don't have enough sport bras (or a decent one) to do that everyday. I talk myself out of it.
From past experiences I know that if I just try it will answer all of my concerns. I might even realize that I was worried about nothing or there is an alternative. The point though is to be dedicated to myself. Do what is needed to reach my goals. Take risk (legal ones). I already know what sitting on my butt will get me. A BIGGER BUTT! We don't want that. It just takes one step to get to the next step. After awhile you'll notice that you've met your goal. Just concentrate on one step. Someone taught me that recently.
Step one: Buy walking shoes - done
Step two: Buy proper sport bras
